The course

Start/Finish and concert area is in front of Hotel Fariones, Puerto del Carmen, the run course will take the runners up to Avenida de Las Playas where the runners will run to the turn point at the Hotel San Antonio and back to the start and finish line.

Race Day

RACE DAY - SATURDAY PROGRAM:
12:00 Start number pick up, athletes are in front of Hotel Fariones.
12:00 DJ music and speaker start in the start area.
12:00 Health and Fitness Expo open
14:00 Race start Kids from 4 to 9 years run 800metre, parents can run with there child, police in front.
14:15 Race start Kids from 10 to 16 years run two loops of 800metre and finish a mile, police in front.
14:30 Race start HALF, QUARTER, INLINE SKATER, WHEELCHAIR AND WALKER, police in front.
14:45 Finish line Music Festival Marathon Party Start
15:00 First finisher of the inline skaters.
15:10 First finisher of the Music Quarter Marathon.
15:20 First finisher of Music Walk and wheelchair
15:45 First finisher of Music Half Marathon
16:00 Presentation of all overall winners, press and media.
16:15 Awards for the wheelchair race & inline skater.
16.15 Food area open all athletes free.

FINISH LINE FESTIVAL:
Music, Food and Fun are at the heart of the Finish Line Festival, where spectators join with runners in a rousing celebration of the considerable accomplishment that comes with completing the Music Marathon Race.

So you’ve done the hard work, now it’s time to celebrate!

After you cross the finish line, stick around for the popular Finish Line Festival, a rollicking carnival of music, food and fun, where spectators join with runners to celebrate the great acheivement of the runners.

Distances and age limits

Kids from age of 4 to 9 year run 800metre.
Kids from age 10 to 16 years run 2 loops and finish a mile.
Wheelchairs race: 1 loop total 5,275K.
Walkers: 1 loop total 5,275K.
Inline skaters: 1 loop total 5,275K
¼ Marathon: 2 loops total 10,550K, + 16 years.
½ Marathon: 4 loops total 21,100K, + 18 years.

Timing

Champion chip ChampionChip will be used and made by TOP TIME CANARIAS:
You will get your chip in your number bib envelope.
During the race the chip must be attached to your left shoe (see picture).
All runners must return their Music Marathon Festival Champion Chips after the race. If you do not return the chip you will be charged 50€uro.
Chips cannot be used for personal use.
Your time is recorded when you pass the start line and the finish line.
This time is called the net time and is the time that will be used in the result list for all runners except the elite runners.
The gross time for each runner – the time from the starting gun to crossing the finish line – can also be found in the results.
After the race you must return your Champion Chip at the finish line.

 

Time Limits

Maximum 2 hours 45 minute after the start time.

Participants can download a photograph or purchase a print for 5 Euros.
A donation of 1 Euro per photo sold will be donated to the charities.

Online payment is via PayPal.
 
Prints can be viewed at the FOTOSHOP in Club La Santa.

Medical aid

Aid station run course
One AID station will be located so you pass it twice per loop, here will be water, energy drinks and fruits.

Medical Service
Full medical service is available during and after the race. A doctor will be at the start/finish area and there will be first aid assistance on the race course.

Advice to participants

Sign up for the race in good time, and when your decision is taken, you will get a better day.
Payment must be done together with the registration, GET YOUR SHIRT AND SHOW IT.
Start your training early, so you can enjoy the event to the full.
Join the pre race training on the run course(look at Training on the course)
Be at the start are in good time to collect the start number and feel the spirit.
Start number must be placed on the front of the body, not folded and full visible.
Remember to have the start number tag on you private bag, so we can keep and give it bag safe back to the right person.
Bring some warm cloth to after the events, there will showers available at the Sport centre Fariones.
At the start place your self according to your running speed, in front the elite, then fast age groupers, the joggers, inline skaters and walkers.
On the roads keep always to the right, as the road is narrow.

When we start, ALL run/walk on the ROAD out to Hotel San Antonio - on the way back, you should use the BIKE lanes (this will avoid crashes).  On the roads keep always to the RIGHT, as the road is narrow.

If you decide to drop out of the race, please report to the refreshment/aid station or to the Information tent at the Start and Finish area.
Runners who drop out are responsible for returning their ChampionChip to a race official in the Information tent.
Portable toilets are located around the start area, the finishing area and at the turning point.
IPods and other form of electronic devices are not allowed.
Follow the advice for police and our marshals.
Keep the road clean, through the used water cup in the aid stations bins.
Bring your family so you together can enjoy Music Marathon Festival.
Remember to run and enjoy the event, salute the bands, your friends and volunteers.

Have a safe race

 

Veteran event organiser Kenneth Gasque, has teamed up with a number of professionals on the island of Lanzarote to organise this great community event. Kenneth is responsible for the recent wine run, and is a key organiser of the world famous Iron Man race.
